Lazy Sunday mornings

After the party on Sunday, we headed to Wabasha for the night. We got up bright and early Sunday morning. Sleeping in his not all it's cracked up to be, right? We went downstairs and brought up some breakfast and just hung out until it was time to go. The hotel has Disney Channel. All you need is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a perfect morning.

Busy weekend

We had a busy, fun-filled weekend.
On Saturday, Brendan and I headed over the river and thru the woods to Grandpa's 80th Birthday bash in Durand. It was hot and very sunny. We both looked like lobsters with our glowing cheeks. Somehow, I didn't manage to take a single picture of anyone at the party except for Brendan, Maddy, and Cole. I was too hot to try. Here are some pictures of the kids playing.

Brendan of the Jungle

Last week we spent time outside looking for creatures. We found a frog (ok, toad) that Amos stole from us. We found spiders, butterflies, caterpillars, ants....oh, good times. Here are a couple pictures of Brendan out on our adventure.

Pool Party

Is it considered a party when there are just two of you? It is in our book.

Yesterday we went swimming at the hotel. Well, Brendan did. He prefers the steps to the hot tub over anything else but did play a little bit in the kiddie pool. The hot tub has bubbles and that's more fun than anything. Although it was perfect weather for an outdoor pool, that glowing skin prefers the indoor setting.

Bum Deal

Watching Dora and playing basketball is twice as much fun with no pants. Don't knock it til you try it.

Chatterbox

For weeks when you show Brendan a picture of himself and ask who it is he will always tell us it's Cole. You tell him it's Brendan and he continues to say it's Cole. He's FINALLY starting to say his own name.

His vocabulary cracks me up. He comes up with a few new words a night, I swear. Last week he randomly pointed out broccoli. The other night he asked for a towel. He's really into his robot and the plant. His favorite at bedtime his hhhaaaiiirrr. Goofball.

Here are a few short videos from the other night. Make sure to have your volume up. The audio isn't the greatest. The one video is pretty blurry. I'm not sure what happened there.

Cutest kid on the block

Brendan and I went on a road trip last weekend to have his 18 month 19 month pictures taken . We encountered rain a majority of the ride up even though the weather man assured us it wouldn't rain that day. It ended up being a perfect day for pictures. If you've seen Brendan and his glow in the dark complexion it's understandable why partly cloudy is best for his photoshoots. We also learned that when you have a white sky, you cannot take a picture of Brendan's head against it. The top seems to get lost in the clouds.

Julie nabbed us the best yard on the block. Thanks Wally. Some people have too much time on their hands to end up with a yard like that!
Thank you, Julie, for taking his pictures again. They get better every time. Feel free to gush, peeps, Julie will appreciate that. As always, she gets credits for his wardrobe too (though he was only able to be shot from the waist up because he trashed his jeans in 2.3 seconds).

Change of pace

It's usually all about Brendan, but today I thought I'd show a couple pictures of Maddy from over the weekend.
Big girl can sit up all by herself now.
Until we walk away and forget she probably needs some assisstance.

Get in line girls

It was nice out on Saturday so we played outside at Grandma's for a little bit. Brendan was playing on his trike.

This picture would've been perfect if it wasn't for the for the reflection from the handle bars and the shadow across his. He's actually smiling and looking at the camera.

Adventures of Cole and Brendan

After a nearly three week hiatus, Brendan and Cole were reunited. They got to spend the day together at Grandma's on Friday. Then, since Uncle Tony was putting together Brendan's new playset (which I did not take ANY pictures of. What was I thinkking?) they got to play on Saturday while Papa helped Tony. It has been a really long time since Cole was at the house and Brendan was so excited and eager to show off.

Apparently, the world is their stage....er, or my coffee table is, I mean. They were performing for Tina. She was VERY impressed with their mad dance skills. Or jealous, if you must. She thought she had the cool moves. She was sadly mistaken.

Here are a couple of Cole that I found to be enjoyable from a few weeks ago.

Ole!
