The Joy of Little Horses

Meet George and Spanx. They traveled far with Joy, Mallory, and Kevin to visit for the day. Brendan is going to be mighty ticked when he returns to Gramma and Papa's and realizes the horses weren't there to stay.

I think that Spanx is a relative of Tina Turner. Check out that do.

Brendan was in horse heaven.

He loved feeding the horses. Eventually, he would give them a few pieces of hay and nibble on one himself. He didn't quite get why is was supposed to be do delicous and was willing to let the horses have their snack.

As you can tell by the death grip on Papa, Cole was not overly amused by the horses. Brendan is thoroughly confused my that notion.

Even Maddy got in on the action.

While Brendan loved the one on one time with the horses, he had no interest in a ride from the horses. It took a lot of persuading to get him to go for a ride. Of course, once he started he didn't want to quit.

And of course, there was just some good old fashion playing outside.

Father's Day

On Sunday after we left Wabasha we met Jeremy in LaCrosse and went bumming. We went to the LaCrosse Children's Museum and played and played.

We have farm stuff at home, but playing there is so much fun.

We got to play fireman.

And with some random stranger who was obviously smitten by him.

And play with water and boats which is always a welcome adventure.

And build bridges.

We stopped at Toys r Us and had a grand ol' time playing with the train set. He could care less that he had an entire store full of toys.

It was a busy, action packed weekend but Brendan had a blast. He was so exhausted that we dropped Jeremy off at this car and hit the road. He was asleep before we hit the interstate.

Lazy Sunday mornings

After the party on Sunday, we headed to Wabasha for the night. We got up bright and early Sunday morning. Sleeping in his not all it's cracked up to be, right? We went downstairs and brought up some breakfast and just hung out until it was time to go. The hotel has Disney Channel. All you need is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for a perfect morning.

"Hello, Cole?"

Busy weekend

We had a busy, fun-filled weekend.
On Saturday, Brendan and I headed over the river and thru the woods to Grandpa's 80th Birthday bash in Durand. It was hot and very sunny. We both looked like lobsters with our glowing cheeks. Somehow, I didn't manage to take a single picture of anyone at the party except for Brendan, Maddy, and Cole. I was too hot to try. Here are some pictures of the kids playing.

Brendan of the Jungle

Last week we spent time outside looking for creatures. We found a frog (ok, toad) that Amos stole from us. We found spiders, butterflies, caterpillars, ants....oh, good times. Here are a couple pictures of Brendan out on our adventure.

Pool Party

Is it considered a party when there are just two of you? It is in our book.

Yesterday we went swimming at the hotel. Well, Brendan did. He prefers the steps to the hot tub over anything else but did play a little bit in the kiddie pool. The hot tub has bubbles and that's more fun than anything. Although it was perfect weather for an outdoor pool, that glowing skin prefers the indoor setting.
