Waste no time...

No sense wasting precious minutes on piddly things like changing into proper swimming attire.

Summer Fun

This summer Brendan is really loving the water. We've been swimming several times and asks to go every day. The more we go, the braver he gets. Last week he slipped off the ladder to the pool. I pulled him out and we cheered like it was on purpose. Ever since he tells me that he can swim and loves to go under water. He's full of sh*t, but at least it didn't scare him. Owen is loving it too.

The Sickies

Owen's first birthday he had an ear infection. He was a good sport for his party, but he didn't feel good at all. His second birthday party he was fine. On his actual birthday, the next day, he started out fine but by late afternoon was crabby and running a fever. He fell asleep at his birthday dinner then took a late afternoon nap in our bed when we got home. You know that Owen doesn't feel good when he falls asleep somewhere other than in his own bed. We took him to the doctor the next day and found out he had strep throat. Brendan spent the weekend with weird blotches all over his body. The doctor took one look at him and knew it was Lyme's Disease. He had to do a blood test for it to be confirmed. So, Owen did his round of antibiotics and was back to himself the next day. Brendan was is on antibiotics for three weeks. The doctors love us.

The Birthday

Last weekend was Owen's 2nd birthday and the big birthday bash. It was hot outside. We piled inside and sucked up the air conditioning for a majority of the party. I don't have a ton of pictures, but Aunt Ashley has been harping me to get something posted.

Thank you to everyone who came!!

I'm not tired. I'm NOT!

I don't care what you say. I'm not tired. I think he's been spending too much time with Papa.

All things green

Owen did get some non-John Deere related birthday presents but he seems to love the green stuff he did get. I think we did this over and over and over for hours yesterday. I recorded it to show Tony the pain he has caused.

Too cool for you

Can you say spoiled? Owen is in love with his fancy new gator (as long as its in stationary position) that Grandpa and Gramma got him. They were supposed to get him a tractor and showed up with this. Best present ever. Even Brendan is liking it, and he is kind of a wimp when it comes to this kind of toy. Thanks Papa and Gramma!

White trash fun

Who needs a fancy schmancy swimming pool? Bring out a tote and a couple cups...hours of entertainment. Really.

Little pig, little pig, let me in

Owen was banging at the door ready to come in. This is what I saw as I rounded the corner. So much for the freshly washed window.

Counting my blessings

Contrary to what everyone is thinking, we have not fallen off the face of the earth. It seems like we've been going in a million different directions, yet going nowhere at the same time. We are in the middle of birthday preparations for a certain soon-to-be two year old beast. The big par-tay is a week away and theres lots to be done. The invitations I made for his party may be my favorite thus far. Be on the look out for a post about those in the future.

Jeremy is eyeball deep in schoolwork...no rest for the wicked. If Owen is awake, he's on the move. The child never slows down. He's much more into the outdoors than the rest of us...rain or shine, hot or cold, it doesn't matter. Brendan still loves his Angry Birds but talks a lot about the zombie robot game. I have no clue so don't ask. All I know is that the zombies get in his house.

Other than that, we are awaiting the arrival of the newest Ahlers grandbaby. He should make his appearance in the scorching Arizona heat in roughly 5 weeks. A majority of the Ahlers clan are hopping on planes or road tripping down to meet him while we stay in Wisconsin and hold down the fort. Or something like that. If you know them this could turn into a cross between National Lampoons Vacation and Trains, Planes, and Automobiles minus Wally World!

For all of you who don't have enough to do with your time, I wanted to share that Alicia started a blog so feel free to stalk her too.
