Move over Justin Timberlake

I'm not trying to slack on posts. I've been trying up upload this video for days and it wasn't working for some reason.

Brendan has decided recently that he likes to sing. He regularly belts out "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", "Row your Boat", and "Itsy Bitsy Spider" (actually to him it's Ipsy Bipsy Spider). The other night he sang "You are My Sunshine" to be for the first time. I know, you're all thinking, "Ahhh, how sweet". Yes, it's sweet yet painful. The child is tone deaf. Painfully so at times, but he tries. Have to give him credit where credit is due. Enjoy!

Brendan helped make brownies the other night. As you can see, he thoroughly enjoyed it.

A birthday party

Poor Owen wasn't feeling good on his birthday. He had a bit of a fever and wasn't up for visiting people (turns out he had an ear infection). We went to his party anyway. He was crabby but did his best to have a good time.



Thanks to everyone who came. Thanks for all the fun presents.

One Year!

One Year? Holy cow, where has the time gone.

One year ago today Owen was born. Hours later our whole world was turned upside down when he stopped breathing and ended up being rushed to Meriter Hospital where he spent the next three weeks in the NICU. When we arrived at the hospital, we were told that the next 72 hrs were critical and he would likely not make it. He made it. We were later told that since the bleed was so severe the future was uncertain. Here were are, ONE YEAR later, and Owen is a crawling, furniture cruising, brother taunting, jibber-jabbering, dog loving little miracle.

Happy Birthday, Sweet Boy!

We've said it before, but I think it needs to be said again. Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, kind words, gifts, and everything you've done for us since Owen was born. We will never be able to say thank you enough.

The Great Explorer

Now that he's mastered the whole crawling thing, Owen is a man on the go. The other day I set him by his toy, walked away, and when I came back he was gone. I found him around the corner sitting in the dark bathroom. Yesterday during physical therapy he was showing off how well he can crawl and found his way to the dog dishes. Tonight, he discovered the dryer. He sat there watching it spin for several minutes then had to go in for a closer look.

See, still friends

Brendan and Owen continue to be BFF's. They actually play together now. Probably only because Brendan's fascinated with that monkey toy and we've stressed that it's Owen's so the only way he can play is WITH Owen. Whatever it takes, I guess.





Lately, Brendan insists on helping put Owen to bed. He climbs in the crib and tucks him in. The other night I put Owen to bed and forgot to tell Brendan. A little while later, this is what we found. They were in there chatting and playing.



For the record, that's chocolate under Brendan's nose NOT a booger.

Hey, maybe we can be friends

It's taken almost a year, but Brendan's finally deciding that maybe Owen's not so bad after all.

Oh Deer!

We went to the Deer Park the other day. By the time we got out to see the deer Owen was over it so we didn't get any pictures with the deer.




He started out content but went downhill fast.
