A rockstar in the making, perhaps?

Still trouble

I really think that Owen is on the go from the time he gets up in the morning until his little head hit's the pillow at night. Except that he doesn't use a pillow. He is in to everything. We never had to consider child locks with Brendan. If you told him no, he moved on and never tried it again. Owen, on the other hand, is relentless.

He is allowed to play in this drawer. It is hours of fun taking out lids and putting them back. I don't get it.

He's doing really well with his walking. He still crawls more than he walks because it's a faster mode of transportation, but he's doing a little more every day. Yesterday he walked and walked and walked. He's getting fancy now because he's figured out how to turn around and come back when you hit a dead end. He's mastering the balancing thing and will take steps backwards to catch himself instead of falling. Yesterday he was even getting up off the floor in the middle of the room with no hands. I was impressed because usually he crawl to the nearest wall or piece of furniture to pull himself back up.

I've been thinking about getting a tree next weekend, but I think he's going to be a beast. I wonder how many times it will get knocked over??

Picture perfect Christmas Cards

Anyone who I have as a friend on Facebook has already seen some of this, but I have to share with everyone else.

I talked earlier this week about how photogenic Brendan is. Last week we went to try to get some pictures for Christmas cards. Brendan was his typical camera loathing self. Owen, on the other hand, is a HAM. He loves the camera. So much so that he looks ridiculous in most of the pictures. We tried to get a couple pictures of them together with little success. This is a sample of the kinds of pictures we got that day.

Speaking of Christmas cards, I was browsing one of the many blogs that I stalk regularly and came across a deal that's too good to pass up. Shutterfly is offering 50 Christmas cards to bloggers. All you have to do is blog about them. Since I usually get my Christmas cards from them anyway, it's a bargain. And you know, I'm all about a good bargain.

For anyone looking for some fun photo cards for Christmas this year, be sure to check them out here. They have soooo many to choose from. Like this one.

I have spent hours, I swear, creating different cards with different picture combinations. Now I have to decide which ones we are actually going to order. Decisions, decisions.

For anyone who is close to a Target or CVS Pharmacy you can have them printed and pick them up in stores or you can have them shipped to you.

If you're looking for gifts for grandparent's they have tons of deals right now. I made a Brendan photobook a few years ago for Christmas presents and it was quite cute, if I do say so myself.

It's not all about Christmas. I have had pictures printed and did baby announcements done there too. There are some really cute Thank You cards too. The possibilities are endless.

Any fellow bloggers interested in free Christmas cards be sure to check out the deal here.

I'm a Big Kid Now

This post is about a month late, but that's ok.

The morning of Brendan's birthday party, Julie, came early to take Brendan's 3 year pictures. In the three years that she has been taking pictures, I'm not sure we've ever gotten a smile. Need not worry, we still didn't. I don't know what the deal is. He almost goes into a trance, I swear. When he does look at the camera, it's more of a glare than a glance.

We went back on Thursday to get pictures for Christmas cards. We got the closest thing to a smile that we've ever gotten. I'll post those another time.

Julie asked tonight if maybe Brendan was Amish. He's afraid that she might steal his soul if he looks at her. I've been laughing about that all night.

Here are a few of Brendan's 3 year pictures, a month later. Thanks again Julie. You're awesome, as usual.

Stuck in a Time Warp

Halloween is long over, but I had a few more bad pictures to share. After trick or treating we went to see Maddy in her costume. She had already removed the bottom half but the top half was enough.

Brendan and Owen posed together for a picture. It went well as you can see.

Since the pictures of the two of them went so well, I figured we'd add Maddy to the mix. These pictures turned out equally as good. Are you sensing the sarcasm?

Every pirate rides a horse, right?

You may or may not have seen Maddy and Owen's costumes before. Just in case you don't remember, click HERE.

Look what I can do!

I have more stuff from Halloween to share, but I thought I'd post these first. Owen's been cruising around furniture for months, but refuses to let go. Today he finally let go. By the end of the day he was walking from one side of the room to the other.

A belated Halloween

Better late than never....

We went trick or treating on Sunday with the rest of the country. Brendan was a pirate. Owen was a bat.

Brendan trick or treated like a pro. He walked up to the houses all by himself.

My personal favorite was probably the 3rd house we went to. He walked up, rang the bell, the little old lady came out, plunked a nickel in his bucket, and we should've been on our way. Instead, Brendan looked at the bucket, looked at the lady, looked in the bucket again, the stared at the lady like "Seriously?? Where's my candy?" I thought we were going to have to drag him off her porch.

Owen rode in the wagon and had a jolly good time himself. There was one house that was playing some bad ass music and Owen rocked out to it. I'll have to upload that video a different day.

When Brendan was done he was done. He jumped in the wagon and rode back to the house.

I have a few more pictures to post later. We stopped to see Maddy before heading home.

A spook-tacular morning

We started off Halloween morning with a festive breakfast. Owen had orange pancakes with blueberries.

All cut up they look orange and black. He thought they were scrumptious.

Brendan is a little more picky so we skipped the blueberries. This is what he got.

In typical Brendan fashion, he looks thrilled as always.
